Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL -- November 1, 2010 -- SharpLight™ Technologies Ltd., an innovative developer and provider of medical aesthetic devices, yesterday received  CE mark for FormaxPlus and Omnimax platforms for medical use in face and body aesthetic treatments.

The OmniMax™and the FormaxPlus are cross-technological platforms that offer a vast range of applications in body contouring, skin rejuvenation and hair removal. The OmniMax™ combines 4 different technologies: Laser, Radio Frequency, Infrared and IPL (DPC). This unique combination of technologies into one treatment protocol enables treating different skin layers and dramatically shortens number of treatments needed to achieve results. The FormaxPlus™ integrates RF, IR and IPL (DPC) into one expandable platform and considered the highly effective solution for body contouring, skin rejuvenation and hair removal in terms of results and costs.

“Receiving the CE medical for our Omnimax™ and FormaxPlus™ is another step toward expanding our activities in the European market” Mentioned Amir Gal, VP of Global Sales.” We are extremely excited to announce the CE clearance, as practitioners today, especially in Europe that has gone through an economic crisis, are seeking a powerful cost effective solution for their clinics. With our platforms they can now offer their clients a wide range of treatments only by replacing a hand piece”.

The Omnimax™ and FormaxPlus™ applications have been tested in various countries and proven to be comfortable and easy to use, making the procedure short and appealing.

“Driven from a clinical background we always take into consideration both clinical results and business results.” Said Shlomi Ben-Avi, SharpLight CEO. “These two elements are critical for the success of an aesthetic clinic. With the Omnimax™ and FormaxPlus™ you can achieve both.”

March 2010: SharpLight unveils solution for evolving clinics into total aesthetic centers at AAD 2010, Miami

SharpLight Technologies launched its new OmniMax™ all-in-one solution at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting in Miami Beach.  OmniMax™ harnesses four powerful technologies in one expandable platform that includes laser, DPC, radio frequency, and infra red. The wealth of applications supported by these technologies delivers the conceptual change a clinic needs to gradually evolve into an aesthetic center.

Despite the tremendous growth in the types of energy-based devices for a myriad of aesthetic applications, most clinics are still based on the model where diverse energy sources are used as the sole therapy for various treatments.  Stand-alone platforms are used for individual applications, requiring major investments when the clinic wants to expand its services and provide patients with new treatments. But all that is going to change, according to Mr. Shlomi Ben-Avi, CEO of SharpLight Technologies.

“OmniMax™ is the first commercially available system to offer a combination of laser, DPC, radio frequency, and infra red,” noted Mr. Ben-Avi. “Clinics need to evolve so they provide their patients with an integrated approach that covers a combination of services, including sought after treatments like body shaping, skin rejuvenation, and hair removal—all in one center.”

Not only is OmniMax™ enabling clinics to provide these combined packages, clinics can now grow naturally and evolve into more complete treatment centers, without being exposed to financial risk. By providing a platform that covers four advanced energy based technologies, practitioners can gradually expand their range of services to cover new levels of intensity or anatomical areas as their business matures.

This new approach also makes good business sense. Practitioners who currently work with only a limited number of applications can retain customers by offering them an enhanced range of services for all aesthetic needs. Moreover, by furnishing a single expandable hub capable of providing all treatments, OmniMax™ ensures that the clinic’s investment is fully exploited on an ongoing basis.

“Today’s medaesthetic patients seek a youthful and rejuvenated appearance rather than treatments for specific indications,” explained Ben-Avi. “They also need a one-stop-shop clinic that has the answer for all their aesthetic needs.”
Practitioners can now provide patients with superior results by offering a package that includes an array of treatments and combines different technologies at several levels of intensity. For example, enhanced results are achieved when wrinkle reduction is followed by skin tightening treatments.

”Comprehensive aesthetic results depend both on the experience of the practitioner as well as on the available technologies,” noted Dr. Betty Czajkowsky, SharpLight’s medical advisor.  “Combined technologies have proven to be much more effective, especially when various skin imperfections need to be addressed as is usually the case.”  For example, Intense Pulsed Light combined with Long Pulse Nd: YAG has shown to be very effective for skin rejuvenation.
